We are thrilled that the Himalayan Hideout and the Hedge Maze are now open. Children are already enjoying exploring the hideout which is built around two enormous sweet chestnut trees. They seem to love chasing each other round and round the structure, climbing up the scramble net and along the climbing wall. Two new benches mean that there is somewhere for parents or grandparents to sit and relax whilst watching them.
We have fenced the hedge maze and so it is still possible to explore and get lost even thought the trees are still quite small. Shirlie's mysterious white creature stands proudly at the centre, carrying the Tibetan Flag. I do hope other children are not as scared of it as our daughter Clemmy is; she refuses to even lift her head up to look it in the (glass) eye!

Dear Sarah, Edward and family, Congratulations on the wonderful achievement of seeing your hideout and hedge maze open. I have just finished watching the TV program you made on saving Riverhill. I must tell you that I was moved to tears of joy when I watched the 30 children being led around your lovely garden by Sarah, and then when they saw the Yeti! I'm sure that every person who watches that show can see the passion and joy which must be your lucky family's every waking day.
Congratulations once again. I live in Australia and if I am every in the UK, I will not miss out on visiting Riverhill. My very best wishes to you all, Kind regards, Tracy McIver Re: Re: Himalayan Hideout and Hedge Maze Now Open!

Hi Sarah, I am also writing from "Down Under"-South Australia and want also to congratulate you and your family on what you have achieved at Riverhill.Country House rescue is always interesting but the show featuring your family history and property was captivating. Being only a "young" country we do not have a long history and to feed my passion I can only watch Foxtel programmes, search bookshops and watch movies to see and learn more. My background is in early childhood education and I have often despaired at the adults view of a child centred playground so I am heartened to see what can be achieved and obviously still be a safe environment. I wish you every success and look forward to learning about Riverhill's progress.

Dear Sarah,
My sister and I have just watched the episode of Country House Rescue featuring your home Riverhill, for the second time in two days. We were inspired by your drive, commitment and creative ideas for your house and gardens. Being avid gardeners, mothers, and having a love of antiques and old homes, you have got us thinking about how we could create our own little "River hill project" here in Australia. All we need to do now is find a two hundred year old home... And to convince my husband to become our own little yeti.. Good luck with your venture, though we are sure with such determination and passion, you will do well. Regards Kathleen & Barbara. Re: Himalayan Hideout and Hedge Maze Now Open!

Gday Sarah,
Another comment from the other side of the world having just seen the wonderful project and gardens on TV. My young family and I (Jack - 4 and Meg - 3)are visiting the UK in August and hope to come and visit. You have done a fabulous job and I am sure with all the planning you have preserved Riverhill for many generations of both young and old to enjoy into the future. Well done and congrats on your new little one Martin |
